I began my business career at TD Bank, first as a Customer Service Representative and later in Financial Services, where I built client relationships and developed problem-solving skills. After three years, I transitioned to the automotive industry as a Business Development Specialist at Infiniti Motors, focusing on sales strategy and market analysis. Understanding customer behavior, market trends, and business operations gave me a unique perspective that now informs my approach to designing user-centered solutions.

Transition to Design

My passion for design started to take shape while I was still working in business and finance. I began looking into design projects, learning the basics of UI/UX and graphic design through self-study and practical experience. This was a pivotal time as I balanced my business responsibilities with my growing interest in design.

To further develop my skills in UX/UI design, I enrolled in an intensive six-month UX/UI Design bootcamp at the University of Toronto. Throughout the program, I gained in-depth knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and cutting-edge design methodologies. The curriculum covered key aspects of user experience and interface design, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and design thinking. By working on real-world projects and collaborating with peers, I refined my ability to create intuitive, user-centered designs. This immersive experience significantly enhanced my design expertise and equipped me with the tools needed to excel in the field.

My journey did not stop there. A few months after completing the program, I became part of the instructional staff, eager to share my knowledge and guide aspiring designers. In this role, I mentored students, provided feedback on their projects, and helped them navigate complex UX/UI concepts. Teaching not only reinforced my own understanding but also deepened my ability to communicate design principles effectively. This experience allowed me to stay engaged with the latest industry trends while contributing to the growth of future designers.
